We found the perfect balance between adventure and cultural connection. Feel the river on a big-water rafting run through Llanganates National Park, then harvest, prepare and taste cacao turned into chocolate the Kichwa way.
Everything happens at Pacha Eco Lodge, on the banks of the Misahuallí River — close enough to reach from Quito, deep enough to feel like another world.
Day by day
Check in at 15:00 and settle into your room or cabin. Spend the afternoon exploring the river by the lodge or wandering our self-guided trails, then join us for a welcome dinner we'll prepare just for you.

A 50-minute drive takes us to Cando, a Kichwa community inside Llanganates National Park. After gear and a safety briefing with our IRF-certified guides, you'll run rapids and drift calm stretches. We stop on the island community of Shandia for games, local handicrafts, chocolate and lunch — then two more hours on the water. Operated by our own Kayak Ecuador.
🚲 Full day on the river
After breakfast, explore the famous Humanti Caves of Archidona — crystal-clear water and ancient rock formations. The tour runs about 1h30–2h, plenty of time to take in this natural wonder before we say goodbye.
